UW-Superior Music Department to present orchestra with Concertos concert
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will hold its Orchestra with Concertos concert on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorpe Langley Auditorium.
The concert will feature the UW-Superior Symphonic Orchestra and the winners of the Orchestra Concerto Competition Seth Harris, saxophone, and Maria Puglisi, soprano.
“The Concerto Competition Winners Concert is one of the highlight concerts of the orchestra season,” said Dr. Erin Aldridge, Professor of Orchestra and Violin at UW-Superior. “We have two wonderfully talented soloists that will be exciting to hear. Also, this concert features our wonderful Symphony Orchestra performing a great orchestra repertoire.”
Works include Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1” as well as works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jacques Ibert and Camille Saint-Saens.
