UW-Superior announces William Zimmer-Wakeley as commencement speaker

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior will hold its commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Siinto S. Wessman Arena on campus. William Zimmer-Wakeley will deliver the commencement address.

Zimmer-Wakeley, a native of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, earned a double major in chemistry and biology from UW-Superior. As a student, he was active in Residence Life, the Yellowjacket Union front desk staff, Campus Ambassadors and the Lake Superior Research Institute.

After graduating from UW-Superior in 2017, Zimmer-Wakeley attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota, where he completed his doctorate in chiropractic. His training included a full-term clinical experience in a community chiropractic clinic. He later returned to his hometown to gain hands-on experience and worked closely with clinic leadership to learn the operational and business aspects of chiropractic care.

Committed to building his career in the Superior area, Zimmer-Wakeley joined Imperium Chiropractic, which opened in the Central Flats building. He has practiced in the community for the past five years.

Zimmer-Wakeley is actively involved with the Superior Chamber Ambassadors, the Rotary Club of Superior and UW-Superior. Through his clinical work, he has treated patients ranging in age from newborns to older adults, with a focus on helping individuals improve their quality of life.

Siinto S. Wessman Arena is at 2701 Catlin Ave., Superior.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior, part of the Universities of Wisconsin system, is a nationally recognized public institution. Located on the shore of Lake Superior in the Superior-Duluth metro area, UW-Superior serves over 2,800 students.
