Rihm Family Companies Named Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation for the 5th Year in a Row

Rihm Family Companies is pleased to be named a Top Company for Women to Work for in transportation by the Women in Trucking Association. This is the fifth year in a row that Rihm received this honor.  There are several characteristics that distinguish the companies recognized on this list, according to Brian Everett, publisher of Redefining the Road, by the Women in Trucking Association. These characteristics include corporate cultures that foster gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities.

“These corporate attributes are essential to any successful enterprise that is serious about gender diversity,” said Everett. “Identifying the companies on this list involves a two-step process. First, nominations of the companies are received and carefully reviewed to ensure they qualify by meeting a minimum threshold of qualifications – including these characteristics we look for. Then the final ballot of companies is voted on by individuals in the industry. This is the fifth year of this prestigious recognition program, and it garnered a record number of more than 22,000 votes to identify and validate the final companies named to the list.”

Rihm Family Companies has been woman-owned since 2010. In 2015 the Women in Trucking Association named Rihm president and CEO Kari Rihm the Most Influential Woman of the Year and most recently, Rihm was recognized as a Top Woman Owned Business by the association – also the fifth time Rihm received that recognition.

“This year, Rihm Family Companies launched the Rihm Women’s Association to recognize the contributions of female employees; help women expand their professional network and develop leadership skills; address workplace challenges for women; and encourage and promote more women in trucking with engagement both within the company and in the community, said Kristin Oftedahl, Marketing Communications Manager for Rihm Family Companies. “Rihm truly does create a work environment that ensures women have equal access to opportunities for professional growth and advancement.”
