KBJR announces new special - ''Northland Steps Up''
Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, there is a lot of good happening across the Northland.
In a KBJR 6 news special, “Northland Steps Up”, news anchor Dan Wolfe travels the region meeting the people who are stepping up to lend a helping hand during these trying times.
The half-hour special features stories ranging from a Duluth store owner who switched gears to help hospitals to a Northwestern Wisconsin restaurant donating food to its neighborhoods and tech-savvy teens delivering groceries on the Iron Range.
"I truly believe there isn't a region in this country with kinder, more caring neighbors than the Northland,” Wolfe said.
Wolfe has spent the last month compiling the stories which can be seen nightly on the KBJR 6 News at 10.
“There has been no shortage of positive story ideas coming in from viewers,” Kevin Jacobsen, KBJR 6 news director said. “We are excited and honored to be able to share them in a half-hour special with our viewers.”
"It's been a special kind of therapy for me to meet such wonderful people every day throughout this pandemic. It provides hope and a sense of calm in the midst of a lot of bad news,” Wolfe said.
“Northland Steps Up” airs Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. on KBJR 6. Wheel of Fortune can be seen on My9, channel 6.3.
