Humane Society of Douglas County, Inc. Establishes a Large Animal Fund
Rescued Mare Needs Your Help
SUPERIOR, Wisconsin – This mare was surrendered to HSDC on May 11. She came in emaciated
and also tested positive for Lyme disease. She’s been receiving veterinary care and is on an IV
treatment for her Lymes. Although we have started treatment, she still has a long way to go for a complete recovery. This is where you can help by making a donation to our large animal fund. In case you didn’t know, we care for more than just dogs and cats.
“When the call comes in for a sickly, mistreated animal we respond. We just never know when we are going to get one of these calls and they can be very expensive, so that’s why we created our Ride for the Rescue event and our large animal fund,” said Sheila Keup, Executive Director of HSDC. Please donate today to hsdc.com or call 715-398-6784 and help ensure a successful outcome for this mare.
Our Ride for the Rescue trail ride fundraising event will be held, Sunday, October 7, pledge forms and
more information are available on our website at hsdcpets.com.
