DTA Temporary Service Reductions Impacting Route 5
The DTA announced today that All Weekday Route 5 Trips will be temporarily paused beginning Wednesday January 5th. This service change will also impact Inbound Route 10E trip Departing Door 8 at 7:05am and Outbound Route 1 Zoo trip departing DTC at 7:35am weekdays. These two individual trips, while not part of Route 5 are connected via interlined service, and will also be paused until the 5 service returns. There is also the potential that other routes and trips within them could face temporary cancellations in the days and weeks ahead. “The decision to reduce service is one we fully aim to avoid, but due to current staffing shortages and concerns for the health and safety of the public and our team, this is the reality right now” said David Clark, DTA Director of Marketing.
The DTA plans to post real-time updates on the Duluthtransit.com homepage and social media regarding any additional changes to service. No additional service interruptions are currently defined, but there is a strong possibility they may occur in the near future.
