Bong Bridge inspection to result in lane closures on US 2
Motorists should expect delays during WisDOT examination of structure next week
Motorists crossing the Bong Bridge, which carries US 2 traffic over the St. Louis River between Superior and Duluth, Minn., will encounter lane closures next week as bridge engineers from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation inspect the structure’s arch span.
The following closures are expected to be in place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the arch:
- Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 5 and 6: East- and westbound right lane and shoulder.
- Wednesday, Aug. 7: Eastbound right lane and shoulder.
- Thursday, Aug. 8: Rain make-up day if necessary.
Motorists might encounter delays and should plan their travel accordingly.
