Zion Lutheran Church is hosting their bi-annual blood drive. We are looking for 22 people to sign up to donate.
One pint of blood can save up to three lives and those could be the lives of our friends and neighbors. Memorial Blood Centers strives to make blood donation safe, easy and convenient for donors in order to keep up with the constant demand of the hospitals in our communities.
"Memorial Blood Centers is in need of blood donors each and every day to fill the needs of our local hospitals," said Carol Jacobson, the Northland Regional Center's Regional Manager. "One donation can save up to three lives and by volunteering to donate, you instantly become a hero in your own community."
The blood donation process takes approximately 45 minutes. To give blood, donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. While walk-in donors are always welcome, appointments can be made in advance to ensure a particular schedule.
Memorial Blood Centers is a nationally known, locally operated nonprofit community blood center that has supplied lifesaving blood and blood components to area hospitals for nearly 60 years. Memorial Blood Centers operates 11 donor centers at ten Minnesota sites and one in Superior, Wisconsin and conducts more than 125 blood drives monthly.
