Yang Ying- St. Scholastica's Mitchell Auditorium

Chinese Erhu virtuoso Yang Ying began playing the erhu, a two stringed Chinese violin, at the age of five.

For over twenty years she was the featured solo instrumentalist with the Central Song and Dance Ensemble, the premier traditional musical and dance troupe in in Bejiing, China.

As the featured soloist, Yang Ying performed for many Heads of State including Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter.
