UW-Superior Winter Commencement
Name: UW-Superior Winter CommencementDate: December 13, 2014Time: 2:00 PM - 2:00 PM CSTEvent Description:Over 200 students will receive diplomas when the University of Wisconsin-Superior conducts its Winter Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in the Marcovich Wellness Center.

Chancellor Renée Wachter will preside over the ceremony and present diplomas to students who have earned associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The university will grant a total of 203 bachelor’s degrees and graduate degrees.
Keynote speaker will be Virginia, Minn. native Luke Hafdahl, Class of 2006, who is chief resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Delivering the student address will be English and Writing double major, Jasmine LaBerge of Anoka, Minnesota.
Paige Arneson, of Spring Valley, Wis. and Victoria Boss, of Spooner, Wis. will serve as student marshals. Each year two marshals are chosen from among the junior class based on highest scholastic standing.
Dr. Mary Balcer, professor of Natural Sciences, is the faculty marshal who will lead the processional of faculty and staff.
Among this year’s graduating class are14 veterans who will be receiving diplomas and six graduates who are international students. Nearly half of the class, (88) are first generation college students.
