Remembering Pearl Harbor and USO - 75 Years
Time Arc Theatre and Twin Ports Stage present, ''The WWII Live USO Variety and Canteen Show,'' commemorating the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and the formation of the USO. Featuring music, dance and comedy, Randy Lee and Ensemble set the stage with 1940s swing music as Bob Hope and friends perform a live radio-format show at the Elk's Club. The American Legion Post 435 Color Guard opens the show that includes WWII entertainers such as the Andrews Sisters, Judy Garland, and Lena Horne. Live commercials based on 1940s' newspaper ads promote the show's sponsors - NBC, Kari Toyota, Stack Bros Electrical, Benson Electric and SWL&P. The Canteen will be open with coffee, Coca Cola, donuts and SPAM sandwiches.
Partial proceeds go to the Northland Honor Flight.
Tickets - $15.00 – for sale online through Brown Paper Tickets and by cash or check at the local outlet Art on the Planet 1413 Tower Ave. Tickets will also be available at the door.
