    Time: 5:00 PM - 5:00 PM CDT
    Event Description:

The NORTHLAND YOUTH MUSIC PROGRAM has been providing a summer music education experience for the past ten years. The summer program was started by parents and community members to create a high quality music education experience at an affordable price. Students in 6th through 12th grade are welcome to take part. Below is information on our programs.
Due to the unfortunate loss of financial support from several significant donors, the 2009 summer program will be only be two weeks.

    Please register early.

Concert Band Program: The concert band program offers a high quality large ensemble experience. The students are placed in bands by ability not age. Students audition at Sunday registration for placement. Students also play in small ensembles and attend classes during their time at the one-week program.

Choral Program: The choral/choir program offers instruction in large ensembles (SAB and SATB) and small ensembles (SSA and TTB). Students experience mixed, women's & men's choir as well as voice lessons and classes during the week of attendance. Choir students may bring a prepared song or aria to maximize learning in private lessons.

Jazz Band Program: The Jazz program offers students an opportunity to learn how to listen to and play in jazz ensembles. Students who would like to try their hand at small ensemble work can do so in our jazz combos. All instruments are welcome to take part in this program. Percussion students must have played set in school or had lessons for one year to play in the jazz bands. Percussion students who do not have one year experience may attend to learn about set and play ancillary percussion.
