Join us for an afternoon of scotch tasting, hors d’oeuvres, raffles, speakers & more. Funds benefit the preservation of the world’s last whaleback above water! We will be having a special nautical art show with local artist Tori Zupancich. Tori is a Minnesota-based artist who finds a special interest in painting her surrounding world. She minored in art from the College of St. Scholastica where she found deep appreciation and interest in oil painting. Tori has focused her work on depicting Great Lake freighters, the aim of which is to demonstrate how the immensity of these vessels are dwarfed in comparison to Lake Superior’s vast and sometimes unrelenting waters. Tori finds the motivation for these pieces stems from her interests in the ships, from the horns signaling their arrival to the crew members offering a happy wave from rust-colored hulls, Tori hopes these works will inspire others to take another look at and find a bit of enjoyment in these vessels for themselves. There will be a live auction for an original SS Meteor canvas! Various artwork will be for sale.
