North End Arts of Superior welcomes you to the 7th annual Trade and Commerce Building Art Celebration and Open House on Saturday, December 6th. The open house will be throughout the building at 1323 Broadway Street, Superior, from 12:00 – 5:00pm, the Artist Reception is from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the North End Art Gallery on the 2nd floor, followed by music by the Fractals and a party at the Red Mug from 8:00pm until you can't party any more!
You will have the rare opportunity to step inside the studios of some of the area's most accomplished and prolific professional artists. Dan Edmunds and Tami LaPole have their studio and gallery filled with contemporary pottery, paintings and jewelry called, ''Art in the Alley''. It is hard not to find it with its brightly colored signs facing Hammond Avenue. Karin Kraemer's ''Duluth Pottery, Superior Division'' is located downstairs, with an entry way through the Red Mug. Her work is highly recognizable with its light hearted, bright and confident brush strokes. The Red Mug also features artwork by the artists of the Trade and Commerce Building. The barista that serves you coffee may also be one of the artists.
Delicious smells emanate from Sustenance Bakery where truly fabulous artisan breads are made every day. Dale Karsky will have desserts and sweet breads for the Holidays; or how about foccacia or a baguette with pesto made from olives and sun dried tomatoes? Across from the bakery is Studio One, now in their tenth year at the Trade and Commerce Building. There is still time for JoAnne Jardine and Kathy Nordstrom to take your Christmas photos to send to family and friends.
Up on the second floor, you'll find the Yoga Tree. Throughout the year, there are lunchtime sessions or sessions after a long work day to help you achieve your sense of wellness. On Sundays, Cheryl Zupec offers classes for toddlers and children ages 6 and up. Across the hall is the North End Arts Gallery, now with regular opening hours on Monda
