Annual fishing tournament with 40 awards offered for lake trout, salmon, walleye and northern. St. Louis Bay and Lake Superior waters.
Friday marks the beginning of the annual JAWS Fishing Derby. The derby starts one hour before sunrise on Friday and runs until noon Sunday, June 8. The fishing area is west of a line running from the Port Wing Wisconsin entry to the Two Harbors Minnesota entry. This includes the Duluth/Superior harbor and the St. Louis River and bays.
The
Western Lake Superior Trolling Association offers two main divisions, JAWS Derby Traditional division and the Pro division, as well as a Kids' division. Trophy plus cash prizes to winners in both divisions, cash prizes for the kids as well.
Also “The Big Fish of the Day”- The biggest fish caught and weighed-in Friday and the biggest fish caught and weighed-in Saturday will receive a $50.00 gift certificate. All JAWS participants (Traditional division and Pro division) are eligible to win this prize.
There will be periodic daily drawings, special nightly prize drawings and door prizes.
The awards ceremony will be Sunday at 2:00pm
JAWS DERBY TRADITIONAL DIVISION
Tickets: Adults $20.00 and kids (under 16) $10.00 Each person on the boat must have a Derby ticket before fishing the Derby. Tickets will be available in area stores until Thursday. Tickets will be on sale at JAWS DERBY headquarters until noon Saturday. Traditional Division participants will be eligible to win “Big Fish of the Day” and all door prizes.

PRO DIVISION
Tickets: $50.00 per contestant (all ages). The Pro Division tickets will be a separate ticket from the traditional division. Pro Division participants will be eligible to win “Big Fish of the Day” and all door prizes. Click

The goal of JAWS Officials is to sponsor a fun and fair fishing contest to recreational and serious fishermen and women. It is vital that we protect both the tournament’s competition (and thus the competitors), and the tournament’s image!
