Name: Forever 15 Project - Free Community Event
    Date: April 9, 2026
    Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
    Event Description:

The Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition invites the community to an evening dedicated to awareness, prevention, and youth safety, proudly welcoming the Forever 15 Project and Deputy Andrews. In the summer of 2022, Hays County, Texas experienced a tragic loss when several high school-aged students died from fentanyl poisoning.  In response, the Sheriff’s Office formed a task force in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies and the DEA. Deputy Andrews was appointed to study the crisis extensively and educate the community.  As part of this mission, Deputy Andrews partnered with Janel Rodriguez, founder of the Forever 15 Project, who lost her son to fentanyl in 2022.  Together, they deliver a powerful and deeply moving presentation to raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl.  To date, they have reached over 100,000 students and adults through more than 550 presentations.  Parents, caregivers, students, teachers, professionals, and community members are encouraged to attend. Students who come will be entered into a drawing to win prizes!
