Bayside Sounds ~ Turun Metsankavijat Wind Band

Grab your lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic basket and head for the FREE Bayside Sounds outdoor concert at the Barker's Island Festival Park. 

This evening enjoy the Turun Metsankavijat Wind Band from Turku, Finland.  The Wind Band is the oldest active scout band in Finland.  It has its roots in the local scout organiazation Turun Metsankavijat.  The band was founded in 1927 and is a traditional concert band consisting of both brass and woodwind instruments.  The orchestra has a very wide musical repertoire that includes everything from perennial favorites to modern tunes.
