What a great weekend, lots of sunshine and now some heat. Heat is great for tomatoes, squash, corn and string beans, not so good for folks used to weather in the 60s and 70s.On Saturday the 16th there were cucumbers and pickles, new potatoes, string beans, raspberries, wild blueberries, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, fresh baked goods, jams, maple syrup, and lots of people walking about having a good time.
We had over 10 vendors on the 16th and tried a new configuration with our booths, instead of one long line we will be across from each other with an aisle in between.
Due to the Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival taking place on Barker's Island, today's market will be held at the Superior Public Library parking lot at the intersection of Belknap Street (US Hwy 2) and Tower Avenue (WI Hwy 35), Superior.
This week we should have the following produce at the market: cucumbers and pickles, new potatoes, string beans, wild blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, fresh baked goods, jams, maple syrup, fresh herbs, and possibly the first of the local sweet corn.
See you there!
