Think back to the vacation memories of your childhood. Now, how many of those were made while on a camping trip. Quite a few, we’ll bet! Camping is a fun family activity, and Douglas County has many opportunities for you to make those cherished family memories while having fun in the outdoors!
Private Campgrounds and RV Parks
Douglas County is home to many privately-owned campgrounds and RV parks. Whether you want a campground that is close to the City of Superior, or would rather be further out in Douglas County, there are a variety of accommodations available. Click here to see a list of campgrounds and RV parks.
Camping in State Parks and Forests
Campsites are available in Pattison State Park, Amnicon Falls State Park, and the Brule River State Forest in Douglas County. Pattison State Park offers showers and flush toilets, but no electricity. Amnicon Falls State Park offers primitive camping conditions, with no showers or flush toilets. There are no electrical hookups in these parks. Sites go fast, so a reservation is recommended. Camping in Douglas County Parks
The Douglas County Forest offers three developed campgrounds each offering unique amenities and attractions; Lucius Woods County Park, Gordon Dam County Park, and Mooney Dam County Park. Each campground is located on a large body of water and all three offer excellent fishing opportunities. All camp sites available for advance reservations and same day check-in as long as sites are available at time of check-in and do not interfere with upcoming reservations.
