Over 20 years ago the Chamber Board of Directors made a commitment to enhance our partnership with the local educational institutions and to build a better understanding of the importance of the business community and the role we play in the community. Through programs like Youth Leadership, Senior Projects, and the various committees we have business representatives on, we continue to build that strong partnership.
One of the ways we are able to highlight our partnership is the “Excellence in Education Ceremony”. Through this public forum we are able to honor students. This was the 15th year for the Excellence in Education Awards & Ceremony.
Counting this year’s senior group, we will have over 500 students from Superior, Northwestern, Solon Springs and Maranatha Academy who have graduated from the program. The Youth Leadership program is an educational program designed to nurture and enhance the skills of students from our community who wish to become involved in impacting the future. The program was developed by The Chamber and is endorsed by all of the participating school districts. It offers students a rare opportunity to interact with community leaders and explore issues, concerns and activities within our community.
